Petit Fire for the EU
Version 1.0.6, 12 October 2026
The App Store version is not offered in EU countries, because of an EU listing requirement that is too much for me to take on. This page offers the same app as a direct download instead.
Download Petit Fire 1.0.6 (zip, 22 MB)
This download is offered in EU countries only. Outside the EU, please get Petit Fire from the App Store.
What is different
- The tip is a page, not a purchase. About Petit Fire has one line, "A cup of coffee", which opens a page in your browser. The App Store version uses Apple's purchase sheet instead. Everything else is the same.
- No App Store reviews, and no automatic updates. The app looks for a new version when it starts and once a day. When there is one, a small red dot appears on the menu bar icon, and About Petit Fire links to this page.
How to install
- Unzip the file.
- Move Petit Fire to your Applications folder.
- Open it. The app is signed and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it without a warning.
- Click the flame in the menu bar to light it. Right-click it for the menu.
If Chrome blocks the download
Chrome sometimes marks a file it has not seen before as suspicious. That is Google's download reputation, not a check of the app itself. Click the download entry in Chrome and choose to keep it, or download with Safari. macOS checks the app's signature and Apple's notarization when you open it.
SHA-256 of the zip: 25f804aa074d293e74f4e035aae21073dbe1c580a0f9b4a4e5874ec9a18a5d33
Requirements
macOS 14 or later. Apple silicon and Intel.
Privacy
The same as the App Store version: no account, no analytics, no identifier of any kind. This version connects to the network only to read the current version number from nowthy.com, when it starts and once a day. Nothing about you or your settings is sent. The full privacy policy applies.
If it earned a coffee
If Petit Fire earned a coffee, there is a page for that: a coffee for nowthy, from $4. Since 1.0.4, About Petit Fire links to the same page. Nothing is unlocked, and nothing changes in the app.
Outside the EU?
If the App Store in your country has Petit Fire, please get it from the App Store instead. It updates itself, and it is where the reviews live.
