Privacy Policy

Petit Fire collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, and no identifier of any kind. The App Store edition connects to the network only to ask Apple about the optional thank-you purchases, and that request goes to Apple, not to nowthy. The direct-download edition for the EU has no purchases; when it starts, and once a day after that, it reads the current version number from nowthy.com.

Who this covers

This policy applies to Petit Fire, a macOS application published by nowthy, and to the pages under nowthy.com/petitfire/.

What the app collects

Nothing. Petit Fire has no account and no sign-in. It does not know who you are, what you work on, or how long you worked. It contains no analytics library, no crash reporter, and no advertising framework. There is no identifier, no fingerprint, and no history.

Network access

The App Store edition makes network connections for one purpose only: to ask the App Store what the optional thank-you items cost, and to complete a purchase if you choose to make one. This uses Apple's StoreKit, so the request goes to Apple, not to us.

The direct-download edition (offered where the App Store version is not available) contains no purchases. When it starts, and once a day while it runs, it reads a small file at nowthy.com/petitfire/version.json that holds the current version number, so it can put a small dot on the menu bar icon when a newer version exists. Check for updates in About Petit Fire reads the same file. That request carries no identifier and none of your settings. Cloudflare, which serves nowthy.com, processes standard server request logs for that request as described below.

Neither edition sends anything when you light or put out the candle. The App Store edition never contacts a server operated by nowthy; its updates come through the App Store. The direct-download edition contacts nowthy.com only for the version check above.

Where your settings are stored

Brightness, size, place, volume, and whether the sound is on are stored on your Mac in the app's own sandboxed preferences, and never leave it. Removing the app removes them.

Purchases

The thank-you items are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details, and we receive no name, address, or email from a purchase. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction. Buying changes nothing in the app; every feature is free.

If you download from the App Store, Apple may give us anonymous, aggregated sales and crash statistics. Those are Apple's reports, they identify nobody, and we cannot use them to reach you.

The website

nowthy.com is served by Cloudflare Pages. Requests appear in ordinary server logs, which include an IP address and are retained by Cloudflare for a short period. We add no analytics tags, no cookies, and no third-party scripts.

Email you send us

If you write to support@nowthy.com, we keep the message so we can answer it, and for nothing else.

Children

Petit Fire is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Since no personal data is collected, there is nothing to access, correct, export, or delete. If you believe otherwise, or have any question about this policy, write to support@nowthy.com and we will answer.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page is updated. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
