nowthy is the name behind two small apps for the Mac menu bar, Petit Fire and Callulu. Alongside the apps there are four printed goods. Two carry the nowthy mark and two carry words, and each one is printed only after someone orders it. All four are on the goods page.
The four items
- A black hoodie, with the mark printed on the chest at about 16 centimeters across.
- An acrylic keychain: the mark on a rounded black square, 50 by 50 millimeters, with a ring for a bag or a set of keys.
- A white ceramic mug with the line "Callulu it a day." printed on it. The word Callulu is orange, and the line is the one Callulu's LUNA puts on the screen at the end of the day. The mug is 8 centimeters across and 9.2 centimeters tall.
- A sticker with the nowthy wordmark on a rounded white plate, the o in blue and the w in orange. It measures 7 by 2.9 centimeters, printed on vinyl with a PET laminate.
Printed to order by SUZURI
All four are made by SUZURI, a print-on-demand service in Japan. There is no stock. When an order comes in, SUZURI prints that one item and ships it straight to the buyer. The buttons on the goods page lead to each item's page on SUZURI, where the order is placed.
nowthy supplies the designs, and SUZURI is the seller. Payment and returns go through SUZURI, and so do the seller's name and address that Japanese mail-order law asks a shop to publish. Since an item only exists once it has been ordered, the pictures on the goods page are renders that SUZURI makes from the shape of the real product. They show where the print sits and how large it is.
Why the mark goes on dark items only
Part of the mark is white, and print-on-demand printing leaves white out on light fabric. SUZURI's settings screen says the same thing: white in a design is left unprinted. On a white shirt, the white part of the mark would arrive as bare fabric. On the black hoodie, the white prints as white. A version of the mark with its colors flipped for light fabric is possible, but then the mark would change from item to item, so the one garment with the mark is the black hoodie.
Cutting is the other limit. A die-cut sticker is cut around the parts of the design that carry color. The three parts of the mark are separate shapes, so a die-cut sticker of the mark would arrive as three loose pieces. The keychain handles this with a black square behind the mark, which holds everything together as one shape. A mark sticker could use the same square, and it would come out as a near copy of the keychain.
So the sticker carries the wordmark instead. The letters sit on one rounded plate, and the cut follows a single outline. The plate is white. A black plate would pull it back toward the keychain, and the printer adds a white border outside every cut, with no setting to remove it. On a white plate, that border blends into the design.
How the list reached four
The first shortlist had four items on it: a T-shirt, a sticker of the mark, the keychain, and the hoodie. The white-ink and die-cut limits took out the T-shirt and the mark sticker, and the goods started with the hoodie and the keychain. The hoodie was first offered in black and charcoal. Charcoal was later removed, and it is now black only.
On September 13, 2026, the mug and the wordmark sticker were added. Neither carries the mark, so the items with the mark are still the hoodie and the keychain. Both new items print colored letters on a white base with no white ink involved, which is why they can stay white.
Buying from outside Japan
SUZURI ships within Japan. Opening a product page from abroad brings up a forwarding service, WorldShopping, or Bibian for Taiwan, which carries the order the rest of the way. The forwarding fee and international postage come on top, so the same item costs more from abroad than it does inside Japan.
