Callulu collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, and no network connection of any kind. Nothing you do in the app is transmitted, because the app contains no code that transmits.
This policy applies to Callulu, a macOS application, and to nowthy.com. Both are operated by Nowthy, an independent developer.
Nothing. Callulu does not collect, store, or transmit personal information. Specifically, it does not record:
There is no account and no sign-in. There is no history, no score, and no streak.
Callulu makes no network connections at all. The application contains no networking code — no HTTP client, no sockets, no telemetry library, and no third-party SDKs. This is not a policy choice that could be reversed by a setting; the capability is simply absent from the software.
Your preferences — which cues are on, effect strength, screen position, accent colour, sound, and launch-at-login — are stored in the standard macOS preferences area on your own Mac. They are never synced or uploaded. Deleting the app removes its behaviour; the preference file can be removed with it.
The version of Callulu sold on the Mac App Store does not read the keyboard at all.
A version distributed directly by Nowthy can optionally run cues from keyboard shortcuts. That feature requires macOS Input Monitoring permission, which you grant explicitly and can revoke at any time. When it is enabled, the app observes key events only to detect the specific modifier-key patterns you assigned. Key events are read but never stored, logged, or transmitted, and the app cannot alter what you type — it registers as a listen-only observer. If you do not turn the feature on, no permission is requested and no key events are observed.
nowthy.com is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and embeds no third-party trackers. Cloudflare processes standard server request logs (such as IP address and user agent) as part of delivering and protecting the site; Nowthy does not use these for any profiling and does not combine them with other data.
If you buy Callulu through the Mac App Store, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple. Nowthy never sees your payment details. Apple provides only aggregate sales figures.
If you write to support@nowthy.com, that message and your address are kept only for as long as needed to answer you. They are not used for marketing and are not shared.
Callulu is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Since no personal data is collected, there is nothing to access, correct, export, or delete. If you believe otherwise, or have any question about this policy, write to support@nowthy.com and we will answer.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page is updated. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
